As warmer weather approaches and it finally starts to feel like spring, it might mean we can start
to wear other shoes, not just our Uggs. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Uggs, but I’m ready to
have different shoes in rotation. Some classics like white shoes and strappy sandals are still in,
but newer styles like kitten heels and ballet flats are here to stay. Hopefully you find a shoe style
to incorporate into your Spring wardrobe!
Nice Heels
A good heel never leaves your wardrobe, but this season try to find a pointed toe or an almond
shaped one, which is just a more rounded point. Opt for wearing one that is red, light blue, or
any pop of color, instead of a neutral tone. Pick a heel height you're more comfortable in, but
kitten heels are still in and they’re less intimidating for everyday wear. The heels can also have
some shine, whether through a delicate fabric like satin or a glossy one like patent leather.

Shoe the Toes
A flip-flop might be the go to but, there are newer styles to elevate your look. Sandals with a
more laid back feel, like a fisherman style or one with a T-strap might be better. Strappy heels
are always in and this year is no exception, with a minimal yet elegant look they’re perfect for
any special event. If you still want a flip-flop, maybe try a heeled thong sandal (I think these
might not be as comfortable though). Something that is just popping up, is a peep toe style. A
safer option is a wedge, but if you're willing to rock something new try a boot with the peep toe.

Cute Flats
Whether you love them or hate them, ballet flats aren’t leaving. If you want something more
sleek, a pointed toe flat might be a better choice than the ones with a traditional rounded toe.
Along with almond heels, “glove” flats are allegedly in as well; they tend to have a longer
rounded toe with a center seam. To make the flats more breathable, consider one with mesh or
netted fabric.

Colors & Fabrics To Watch Out For
With spring, light and pastel colors come to mind, but an exception to this will be
burgundy! So close to black but not quite, allowing it to give an edge to your look. A color that
never goes out of style but increases its appearance in the warmer month is white! White heels,
sandals, or sneakers are perfect for spring, and are probably a piece you already have. Green is
a new color coming onto the scene. From shades like olive, pistachio, or even army, try adding
this pop of color into your mix.
Materials like raffia, crochet, and mesh are all great as the weather gets warmer to give
shoes breathability. This is in addition to the fun vacation vibes they give off. Something else
trending for spring, are embellishments and anything that shines! A silver ballet flat or heel are
great finishing touches to an outfit, but also try finding shoes with rhinestones, jewels, crystal
trims, or even pearls for this upcoming season. Lastly, not exactly a material, but a style to try to
incorporate would be contrasting toe caps. Most popular are the Chanel ballet flats, but any pair
will work. Whether it's a contrast between color or material, finding them in a low heel or ballet
will allow them to be a versatile piece in your closet.

There are so many trends for spring, don’t feel obligated to participate in all of them, instead
choose one that speaks to you and your closet! It’s interesting to see how many of these trends
have sprinkles of the past decades in them, like the almond heels or the contrasted toe caps. Is
there any spring shoe trend you can’t wait to try out?
