You might have heard about the copper hair trend from last fall, however this color is making a comeback. Maybe it is the change to the cooler seasons, but as the leaves are turning red, hair trends are too.
With many celebrities also dying their hair copper tones, the growing sightings influence the public even more to reinvent this trend. Earlier this year, Kendall Jenner debut her warm-toned locks on Prada’s runway.

Additionally, Euphoria stars Sydney Sweeney and Barbie Ferreira both recently made the switch to copper. Sweeney with a strawberry blonde take and Barbie with a bolder orange. With these celebrities, and many more, changing their signature styles to new fiery hair, the public joined these “it girls” in their edgy but natural style. On the widely popular platform, Tik Tok, #copperhair has gone viral again with over 385.1 million views. The app’s home page can be seen flooded with autumn hair transformations. Stylists all over the app have been explaining the process for the best way to take on this copper trend.

What makes this trend realistic is that copper hair can be applied from any current hair color, from dark brown to bright blonde. Also, copper has different shades that give it the ability to work with any skin tone, however it is a good idea to pick a shade that will work well with the undertones of your skin. The coloring process is easy but fades quickly overtime. This is what makes copper the perfect seasonal color. Though, this color does have some downsides. It is easy to take a blonde shade to a copper shade, but it is hard to go back to blonde due to the lifting process required. With this, proper hair care is needed to avoid dry and damaged hair from undergoing all the dying processes. Though color cautious shampoos and deep conditioning masks will help to avoid as much damage as possible.
From high fashion to street wear, this trend has taken over, yet again. Being that the red- warm toned shades match the color pallet of the autumn nature, I am sure this trend won’t leave too soon. It is likely that a next fall, we will be seeing red take over in the salons.
