It has just been revealed that The Lyst index has ranked Prada as the hottest brand of this economic quarter, October to December of 2022. Searches for products by Prada have increased by an impressive 37 percent.
So how did Prada increase its product traffic?
2022 was an extremely impressive and busy year for Prada. They launched a fine jewelry collection that consisted of recycled gold, named Charli D’Amilio the face of Prada Linea Rossa FW22, Andrea Guerra was added to the CEO of Prada group, and their brushed leather slingback shoes were named The Lyst Index’s second hottest product.
Aside from these impressive achievements, based on Prada’s financial reports from 2022, in the first half of 2022 they made roughly 96 million dollars more than the first half of the year prior.
This is the first time that Prada has been ranked number one hottest brand. Joining Prada in the top five, we have Gucci, Moncler, Miu Miu, and Valentino.
The Lyst Index is an index that branches off the company Lyst, which is both a popular shopping app, but also a fashion technology company. The Lyst Index does quarterly rankings of all that is hot in brands and products.
The Lyst Index has also reflected a lot on the influence of social media in the fashion world, and how tik tok trends have influenced different spikes in various parts of the fashion industry. A lot of social media’s influence is shown in the following graphic, which contains products such as cropped puffers, Doc Martens, Crocs, and more.
It is fascinating to see luxury products be indexed and ranked, and how competition works between companies. Gucci has ranked number one for many quarters, so this leaves people curious as to how they will gain customer interest to reestablish their title as “Hottest Brand.”
