This past week, Schiaparelli’s Spring/Summer 2025 Haute Couture show debuted in Paris, drawing inspiration from mythology and its gods. Titled Icarus, the collection is a blend of beauty and the heavens, created by Schiaparelli’s creative director, Daniel Roseberry. His approach to fashion has consistently proven that taking risks can lead to amazing results. Instead of taking a literal approach to Greek mythology, Roseberry decided to play around with modernity. He wanted to create something that felt new by drawing inspiration from the past, challenging the idea that modernity must be simple. Instead, Roseberry embraced his complex and creative ideas, incorporating intricate detailing and extravagant ornamentation into Icarus. Through the collection, Roseberry brought together sculptural shapes, extreme proportions, luxurious fabrics, and more. “How high can we couturiers go? As high as the sun—and the Gods—allow us,” he said, sharing his constant need for perfection in fashion. The show and its looks were a great mix of tradition and innovation, taking couture to the next level.
Kendall Jenner was styled in a satin strapless corset dress in nude mesh, featuring exaggerated hips adorned with embroidered floral motifs and Maison’s signature codes in satin stitch. To finish, the dress included a large bow and a lace-up back.
Alex Consani donned an embroidered opera coat trimmed with glycerine-bathed ostrich feathers. The coat was layered over a sand-colored satin skirt and a mink-colored ostrich feather bra.
Lina Zhang wore a bustier dress in black satin duchess and organza, featuring a sculpted empire basque embroidered with ostrich feathers and floral motifs in feather fringes.
Coumba Mballo stepped out in a bustier sheath dress completely embroidered with smoked crystal strass, accentuated with sharp hips and laced at the back. The dress was layered over an ostrich feather bra.
Penelope Ternes appeared in an asymmetrical dress with a blush high-neck jacket, featuring scalloped edges and embroidered with Schiaparelli archive-inspired gold chords and pink enamel flower bouquets. The dress included pleats and tulle at the bottom.
