Here I am, ready to rescue you from the depths of lip gloss despair. You will no longer have to waste money on boring, sticky lipgloss..you’re too good for that! Let me redirect you towards Amorevolous Aesthetics; a cosmetics company you'll never turn back from.
I discovered Amorevolous Aesthetics about a year ago, and since then I have grown more impressed with the quality and uniqueness of the products; so much so that I felt compelled to write this article and encourage others to buy their products. The company has continued to grow the variety of products that they offer, such as fruity pebble donut lip gloss, chocolate covered strawberry body scrub, false lashes, pineapple soft serve lip oil, and blueberry martini overnight lip masks! Each product is cruelty free, vegan, and handmade as well. When you finally receive your shipment in the mail, each product is presented glamorously, with glittering tissue paper and sheer fabric bags that hold the product with a cloth flower and acrylic gems. There is so much love and care involved in every avenue of their business. The merchandise is more unique than any other cosmetics company I’ve come across, and each of them have the perfect formula. I mean, have you ever heard of a chocolate milk flavored lip gloss? (It’s amazing, by the way!)
However, I was not only interested in their products; the person behind the brand caught my attention as well. I decided to reach out to the business owner, Aleece, to ask her about starting her company. Here's what the business owner had to say:
Where are you from/ located now?
I am from a super small town in Pennsylvania called Shickshinny, a 2 hour drive to Temple University, actually! :) Now I live on the West Coast in sunny Phoenix, Arizona, love it!
Were you always interested in starting your own businesses? If so, what inspired you to start and how did/do you want to differentiate yourself from other cosmetic companies?
Never in my life did I think I would own a business, I never had the desire or even an idea about wanting to own a business until one RANDOM day in January of 2019. I was really into doing my makeup a lot because my primary and only job was filming ASMR videos on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and my best friend Mena and I would always hang out at the pool and one day we just said "what if we both start businesses? like small businesses, what could we sell?" and from there I started thinking I would be very interested in selling lashes, it took me a little while to come to this product specifically but I thought that I had an eye for quality products and I knew what would stand out for lash styles and textures and what would be the average. So, I started researching all the ways to start a small business, supplies needed, business licenses needed, EVERYTHING you could think of and that's where it all started. I differentiate my business from others in the experience that I provide while shopping with me; from the gourmet vegan and cruelty free hand made products to the sheer bag with acrylic gems and flowers that your order arrives in. I aim to give my customers a personal experience when shopping with me so that they feel as if they are receiving a special gift from a friend when their order arrives!
What challenges have you faced in starting your own business?
I faced a really large and heartbreaking challenge of having to rebrand my business in January of 2021 due to a trademark infringement with my business name being too similar to another business in the same category of products "cosmetics" because they already had their name for years and had been using it, they of course had the right to the name and I had to change mine. Though I was absolutely devastated, it was the best thing that could've ever happened because that's actually how I turned into the amazing Amorevolous Aesthetics!
What plans/hopes do you have for Amorevolous Aesthetics in the future? New products? In-person stores?
For the future, my dream and goal for the business is to absolutely open a few stores to shop at in person! I also want to have a few vending machines, preferably in airports; that's what I'm looking into next. I am looking forward to The New Year to elevate my business and continue to grow my customer base and add new products. I currently have 6,646 customers who have ordered from Amorevolous Aesthetics, many of them repeat customers! I plan on adding luscious lotions very soon, I am in the process of learning formulas and preservatives for those currently!
What advice would you give to future entrepreneurs?
All it takes is a vision. Do research, learn all there is to learn about what you're interested in pursuing and then make your plan to make it happen! Your plan can include making a list of all the essential things that are absolutely necessary to start your business, know the EXACT cost that it's going to take to start up, this will give you an idea if you need to save money or possibly get a loan to cover start up costs. Don't be afraid to fail and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Sometimes, your business might not turn out exactly as you'd hoped or maybe you tried to sell a product and it was a failure in sales. Use these downfalls to learn, find out what went wrong and use that to guide yourself into the next product or the next business idea, these are essential learning experiences. Don't ever look at it as an end to your dream! When one door closes, another one opens, truly!
Though the products at Amorevolous Aesthetics are reason enough to indulge in a purchase, it is important to support small businesses like Aleece’s. All of her products are perfect for gift giving, or even for just spoiling yourself. Who knows, maybe you can draw inspiration from Aleece and start your own company.
