Coachella, although it is a music festival, is arguably one of the largest and most anticipated fashion events of the year. This year Coachella announced its headliners to be Bad Bunny, Frank Ocean, and Blackpink.
Every year at Coachella there are certain celebrities and influencers that people cannot wait to see the looks of. The list never fails to include the Kardashians, but it has been changing to be more influencer based within the past few years.
Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, and Hailey Bieber seemed to take the simple route, wearing tank tops with jeans. These outfits definitely cost each of them a couple of thousand dollars but would be able to be easily recreated with $40 at Walmart.
The top trends spotted at Coachella this year were denim on denim, cowboy boots (like always), maxi dresses, and crochet clothing.
Influencers such as James Charles, Tana Mongeau, Amelia Gray, Camila Cabello, Suki Waterhouse, and many many more were spotted wearing different iterations of denim on denim many fashion blogs have noted this and are predicting this to be a new trend.
Now let's dive into the stars of the weekend, the performers. I will stick to the most notable ones, which were Blackpink, Rosalía, and Bad Bunny.
All of the members in Blackpink stuck to their name and theme and wore black and pink outfits made by Dolce and Gabbana.
Rosalía perfectly combined edgy and elegant with a flowy pink Acne jacket, tight-fitting leather pants, and Rick Owens sunglasses. She not only had an amazing outfit but her performance was rated as one of the best ones from Weekend One.
Bad Bunny sported a custom-made patchwork puffer jacket with matching pants made by ERL. This outfit was made to represent his versatility as a performer and his multifaceted style.
Coachella has now gotten the nickname of The Influencer Met Gala, where influencers are to show off their creative outfits. Post commission increases greatly for influencers at this time, especially since major brands such as Revolve host influencers for this event.
I am excited to see what Weekend Two of Coachella will have in store in regard to outfits, and I am sure that we are hoping for ones that will be memorable.
