Temporarily closed in January 2022, Free People plans to reopen at 1632 Walnut Street around December 9. The old location stood next to Urban Outfitters on Walnut and is a favorite for many Philly shoppers, but they closed due to expiring leases or flagging performance, as well as many other Walnut stores in 2022.
Owned by the Philadelphia based company Urban Outfitters, Free People sells boho and bohemian clothing, known for vibrant, sparkly interior decorations inside the stores. The brand has a selection of high quality winter accessories and jewelry, serving as great gifts for the holidays.
The new location will open in close distance to the old location, replacing a bookstore and cafe called Shakespeare & Co. Free People is especially popular amongst college students because of its playful essence, so this reopening will attract many people.
