Luxury brands have been branching out into film, art, and culinary fields over the past decade to create an even more immersive experience surrounding the brand. Most recently, Saint Laurent collaborated with Sushi Park to open a new restaurant in Paris. This innovative move brings the Los Angeles favorite to France just in time for Paris Fashion Week.

The official restaurant will be located on the lower level of the Saint Laurent Rive Droite boutique and will be the first permanent location of Sushi Park outside of Los Angeles. The Rive Droite boutique is newly renovated and houses exclusive pieces, limited editions, vintage items, and a curated bookshop. All this new space needs is a restaurant to create an immersive experience representing the Saint Laurent brand.
The restaurant has had quite the reputation for elevated cuisine since its opening in 2006 in LA. However, this is not the first time Sushi Park has traveled to Paris. In 2022, there was a Sushi Park pop-up in collaboration with Saint Laurent in Paris that was all the rage. This success—paired with the amazing food—inspired Saint Laurent’s creative director, Anthony Vaccarello, to make this collaboration more permanent.

Sushi Park offers seasonal Japanese cuisine with an omakase experience described as one that “reflects artistry and precision.” The $400 price tag certainly aligns with the luxury associated with a brand like Saint Laurent, but so does the minimalist environment that has been created within the restaurant itself. The space is dark and intimate with sculptural furniture and elegant dining ware designed by art director Daeyong Kim. Each plate and bowl is handcrafted with care and unique in some way.

This collaboration is an ingenious way to merge luxury fashion and fine dining. The artistry of fashion and food are so closely intertwined that this partnership feels natural. So much thought goes into each piece of clothing, and the same level of care and creativity goes into every dish prepared by a fine dining chef. Fashion and food bring people together, creating a sense of community through shared sensory experiences, and I think this is a wonderful fusion of the two.
