Accessorizing is essential to making your outfits special. As winter quickly approaches, we unlock a whole new world of accessories that not only keeps us warm but also adds something unique to our outfit. As the temperature drops, it is time to embrace the cozy accessories like scarves, gloves, and hats. These pieces can elevate your outfit, making it feel more chic and comfortable. These small additions bring personality to simple winter outfits. I will be exploring some of my favorite options and include links to the items pictured, at the end of the article!
One of my favorite styles of scarves is the brushed blanket scarf. They are thick and soft without being too itchy or stiff. They are also not insanely bulky, allowing them to transition from a brisk day to a cool night without being too warm or heavy at any point in the day. Many of the ones I have seen are colorful, and you can find them in almost any design. A scarf adds dimension to your outfit, and pairing one with a nice coat and cute boots can make all the difference. The scarf to the left is from GAP, and the one to the right is from Old Navy–both affordable options! I have one that is a staple in my winter wardrobe, so I cannot recommend them enough. These are a couple of choices that you may want to add to your closet.
Another great winter accessory is a simple beanie or a cute knitted hat. You can find a neutral one that fits your color scheme and matches a sweater or coat that you have, or pick something bright or patterned to add a unique element to your outfit. Either way, a nice winter hat can keep you warm and ensures your cold-weather wardrobe stays fresh. The ones pictured here are an affordable option from Uniqlo, and are designed with their HeatTech technology to be especially warm without breaking the bank.
Finally, gloves! Gloves can simultaneously protect your hands from the harsh winter weather and pull an outfit together. You can dress up an outfit by opting for a pair of sophisticated leather gloves and a long coat or wear a simple pair of knit gloves to stay warm while adding a pop of color. The simple red knit ones are from GAP, and the brown pair are a surprisingly affordable pair of cashmere-lined leather gloves from Quince.
This winter, think about the intersection of fashion and function when it comes to accessories. These pieces are all great options if you are looking for an affordable addition to your winter wardrobe. Each one can enhance something to an already bold outfit or become a new statement piece for you this winter. With the holidays right around the corner, all of these make great gifts that are not too pricey for us college kids. No one can ever be too cozy as things get colder, so check out the links below, and happy accessorizing!
